What's new in mas 1.8.3: Whether you're an app developer or regular user, you might want to automate certain processes related to the App Store, such as searching for products, their versions, or prices, installing apps, upgrading them, and so on. Eventually I found one way to do so, go to the “Purchased” section of the app store and you should be able to view the download progress! Just refer to Launchpad in the Dock of Mac OS X instead, you don’t even need to have the App Store open to see the apps download progress. This is a super simple trick, and as long as you have Launchpad in the Dock of Mac OS you’ll be able to check any active downloads coming from the App Store quickly.

Universal Apps
When you open your project in Xcode 12, your app is automatically updated to produce release builds and archives as Universal apps. When you build your app, Xcode produces one binary “slice” for Apple Silicon and one for the Intel x86_64 CPU, then wraps them together as a single app bundle to share or submit to the Mac App Store. You can test this at any time by selecting “Any Mac” as the target in the toolbar.
Widgets
Easily build widgets using the WidgetKit framework and the new widget API for SwiftUI. Widgets now come in multiple sizes, and users can visit the new widget gallery to search, preview sizes, and add them to Notification Center to access important details at a glance.

App Privacy Details
Enter all necessary information about your app’s privacy practices, including the practices of third-party partners whose code you integrate into your app, in App Store Connect. These details inform the app privacy label on your App Store product page and are required to submit new apps and app updates to the App Store.
App Pre-Orders
Your new app can be made available for pre-order when you submit your app and metadata for review in App Store Connect. Users can order your app before it’s released for download from your App Store product page.
